Democracy on display
Ladies and Gentlemen:

I can never let the last debate among us go without congratulating all for the way it was exchanged. I saw a real democratic debate among group of intelectuals. I sow the respect for the other view, the freedum of expression even the admition of errors.

Needless to say that what I have seen encourages my family and I to come back and live for the remaining years of our lives among the best.. As some said "we need a break", I say we need to congratulate ourselves. All the best. Aly Sharaf

Thank you for your congratulates

Thank you for your congratulates. It is great to have you back in Egypt. I hope you and your family are enjoying.

I tried many times to ask you a question but the democratic discution was taking my attention;)

The question is : What was the reason or lets say the reasons that made you come back after all those years to live in Egypt???

I have a graduate student who was born in Swed, her mother is Swedish.

The girl came back to get married and live in Egypt. I asked her the same question, why? she said that people are tired of the strong system of the country. They commit suicides they can't break any rules.

Is it real that man can't live without the feeling of bad and good, nice and tough, beauty and ugliness.

Please share your thoughts with us .

Thank you

Dear Soma. Thank you. I like you to know that I'm still living in the USA. I share all of my discussion from the states. I only come to Egypt for the winter time to escape the ice and snow. I have my Villa and Automobile in El-Rehab for this purpose. I retired 2 years ago and married with 3 children born in the USA, married to moslem arabs. They all living happly in the USA. ONE GRAND DAUGHTER   ( Aminah) 3 years old..

I hope that you got the answer of your question which has many question marks after it. I love to come to Egypt because I like to keep with my roots and love my 2nd country of the USA which there is no similar one in the world. I was a research scientist  in the Nuclear Pharmacy field for many years, I came on a scientific mission from the National Resear Center of El-Dokki in 1970.

I hope that you got to know me in spite of the fact that you ask a very personal question. I know that in Egypt can ask these questions without any reservation, Just like when they ask you how much is your monthly salary ? and who did you vote for?. You lived in New York and you know that these questions may get to be little personal. I have been living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since day one. It was nice to know you. Now can you tell me little about yourself?. All the best. Aly Sharaf

Hello Dr. Aly
Thanks for your reply, In fact I didn't mean a personal question. I was asking a general one.  I have some members of my friend's family who came back home after a long staying in the states. Sorry, I thought you are living now in Egypt. Anyway, My family and  I lived in Buffalo, N.Y for 3 years. My Husband and I studied our Ph.D at the University of N.Y in the art education field. We have 3 children, the last were born there. I loved the snow, and I think you know how bad it gets in Buffalo :) . Nature colors of the tree leaves are amazing while changing in  the autum. I still have a good contacts with my friends, thanks to the iternet :).

Thank you,

Hi Dr. Aly and Dr. Soma
My name is Mona , but I am using the account of my son, living in Re7ab since 2006, but I used to live in the USA (Maryland, and Texas), for 9 years, when I returned back to Egypt I couldn't find any place to make me feel better living in except in Re7ab, I like it so much , and I can guarantee it for you that you wont ever regret it,
The only thing that makes it sound bad is the way the system of Re7ab dealing with the residences, but ensha allah things will get better.

From my point of view, the situation will not last for long, because they are committing so many illegal mistakes, beside that there are so many people living in Re7ab that are insistent on fixing the situation, and working hard on revealing their ugly truth and even taking them to courts, so ensha allah they will succeed.

I am one of those who are facing a problem with the system, but I am sure it will be solved soon.

Don't be worry Dr. Aly, life in Egypt is not that bad, and as per Soma here you can find both the best and the worse of every thing …………… J , so it is fun.

P.S. My son is still living in the USA for completing his study , but as a young man he likes it there and he is not planning to come back in the near future. Rabina yesle7 el a7wal .

Best Regards to you and your family.
