Dera Mr. Abu Adam: ALSALAM ALUKUM:
I will try to address each one of your point., So please allow me.
First: NO owner should go to El-Jehaz and ask for a detailed certified budget statement especialy when it is so difficult to meet any of the authorities and go through layers of secratories and most of the time they are in meetings all day.
The JEHAZ must publish this budget and distribute it with payment requestions.
Eventhough, I, myself, had a meeting with Mr. Nagy El-Tony after changing its times many time and talked to him for 3 hours. I asked him about a detailed budget, he pulled out one page on his computer screen and tried to show it to me. My reply was, you have this here in your computer, you must print copies and send to owners.
When I aske him about REGISTERATION which you avoid answering its particular question, he said it is a matter of few months and will be solved. It has been more than a year and the same promise was given to many of our friends 3 to 4 years ago.
When I asked Mr. El-Tony about the bank where our maintenance deposites are, he replied that all what you the owner have no buiseness of knowing!!.
Mr. Abu Adam: Would you pay your electric bill using a requestion of paying your water bill?.
Of course not. Then why the JEHAZ does not have Maintenance Difference Cost listed on the requestion because that is what the JEHAZ is asking us to pay. We are not looking for problems we are asking the JEHAZ to be precise and follow what is in the contract concerning this point. This also will prevent any missunderstanding in the future of what we paid for.
Whatever happen to the law that the company must form a homeowner union with elected members to advice the company in managing the city?. Do you know anything about this?. This is why we felt that the JEHAZ lacks transparency and yes, we like to have a mediator to overlook their books. It is our rights as owners paying for everything in the city. Again, we are not interested in managing the city as you claim.
You live in El-Rehab, do you agree with the water billing system that makes everyone pays without any regards to his actual usage. We paid for water meters to be installed and read every month and every one pays for what he used. The water for irrigation and city use will be added to the maintenance costs. Is it fair that we pay water for those who abuse it?. I come to Egypt 3 month/year and pay as much as the ones who live in the city all year long.
Why the JEHAZ insists that the water collection system stays the way it is at the present time?.
Mr. Abu Adam: No one interested in going to courts especialy in Egypt. We would rather solve our differences on the negotiating tables as long as we are sincere and have one goal.
We went to court as the last resort and that is usualy where the week ones go to get their rights.
You are saying that I compare what goes on in El-Rehab with what goes in America. This is not my line. In fact this is your company line when you advertise by saying (AN INTRNATIONAL CITY ON AN EGYPTIAN LANDS). At least the company must live up to this addvertisement. At that time I will not have any need to mention such comparison.
There is nothing wrong with such comparison, I like to point out ideas which I see that it can be easly applied in our city. I know for a fact that the company's staff and most of the residence are the cream of the crops of the Egyptian society and El-Rehab is filled with so many intellectuals who will understand, respond and share any ideas from anywhere.
Finaly, I thank you for your time and consideration.
All the best.
Dr. Aly Sharaf
